Overview

The Cart feature in the Point of Sale (POS) module allows cashiers and sales staff to manage items selected by a customer before checkout. It provides a real-time view of the products being purchased, including their quantities, unit prices, applicable taxes, and discounts. The Cart is directly linked to billing and payment processing, ensuring smooth and accurate transactions.


How to Access

  1. Log in to the Centric System dashboard.
  2. Navigate to POS (Point of Sale) from the sidebar menu.
  3. Start a new order (Delivery or Takeaway) – the Cart section will automatically display on the right side of the POS screen.

Key Features of the Cart

1. Item Management

  • Add products to the Cart by scanning a barcode or selecting from the product catalog.
  • Each entry shows Item Name, Price, Quantity, and VAT.
  • Update quantities by clicking + / – buttons.
  • Remove items with a single click using the delete (X) icon.

2. Price & Tax Calculation

  • The Cart dynamically calculates:

    • Subtotal – total of all items before tax.
    • Discounts – applied manually or via coupons.
    • VAT – automatically calculated based on product tax rules.
    • Grand Total – final payable amount.

3. Payment Integration

  • Supports multiple payment methods:

    • Cash – Enter amount received; system auto-calculates change.
    • Card – Record credit/debit transactions.
    • Pay Later – For credit-based sales.
  • Option to Split Invoice when payment is made using multiple methods.


4. Invoice Generation

  • After confirming payment, the Cart automatically generates a Simplified Tax Invoice.

  • Invoice includes:

    • Business details (Branch, Cashier, VAT number)
    • Customer order details
    • Items with quantities, unit prices, VAT, and totals
    • Barcode and order number for reference
  • Invoice can be printed or shared via email/WhatsApp directly from POS.
